Mobile app shows something different from the browser in DXtrade

The app and the browser disagree on balance, available instruments, order types or which accounts exist.

DXtradeMobile app shows something different from the browsermobileaccount

What is causing it

The app is a different client against the same account. Feature coverage and refresh behaviour differ, and some firms do not enable the app at all.

Why this happens

The app and the web platform share the same server-side account but are built separately, so they do not necessarily expose the same features or refresh at the same moment. Add a phone that suspends background apps, and short disagreements between the two are expected.

Persistent disagreement, such as a different balance after both have been refreshed, is worth reporting because it means one of them is looking at a different account.

The fix, step by step

  1. Pull to refresh or reopen the app before comparing. A backgrounded phone app can hold stale data in exactly the same way a background tab does.
  2. Confirm both are pointing at the same account. If your firm issues separate demo and funded accounts, it is easy to have one open in each place.
  3. Confirm with your firm that the mobile app is supported for your account. Some firms deploy the browser platform only, and an app downloaded from a store may be a different firm's build.
  4. Treat the browser platform as the authority for anything that matters, and confirm on it before acting on a figure you saw in the app.
  5. Expect some order types, chart tools and reporting to be absent on mobile. That is normal for a mobile client, not a fault.

How to confirm it is fixed

After refreshing both, the account number, balance and open positions match on the app and in the browser.

Stopping it happening again

Use one of them as your primary and treat the other as a viewer. Do not manage the same position from two devices at once.
