An instrument is missing from the list in DXtrade

A pair, index or commodity you expect to trade is not in the platform's instrument list, or it appears but cannot be traded.

What is causing it

The firm enables a subset of the available instruments. What you can trade is set by your firm and your account type, not by the platform.

Why this happens

Prop firms restrict instruments deliberately, usually to control risk on thin or expensive products such as exotic crosses, single shares or some crypto pairs. The platform shows you only what your account is entitled to, so an instrument another trader can see may genuinely not exist for you.

The fix, step by step

  1. Search the instrument list by a partial name rather than the full symbol, as the firm's naming may differ from what you expect.
  2. Check your firm's published instrument list for your account type. Evaluation, funded and different account sizes often have different lists.
  3. Check whether the instrument is simply outside its trading session. Indices, commodities and shares follow exchange hours and may be hidden or untradeable when closed.
  4. If your account has multiple watchlists or instrument groups, check the others before concluding the symbol is absent.
  5. Ask the firm directly whether that instrument is enabled for your account. They can enable or confirm it, and no amount of work in the platform will add an instrument the firm has not enabled.

How to confirm it is fixed

The instrument appears in the list and a small order is accepted during its normal session hours.

Stopping it happening again

Check the firm's instrument list before you build a strategy around a product, and re-check it after moving to a funded account, as the list can change between stages.
