Account is read-only, closed or missing in DXtrade

You can log in, but the account shows no trading buttons, or it has disappeared from the account list entirely.

What is causing it

The evaluation has been breached, expired or closed by the firm. Platform access is often left in place so you can still see history.

Why this happens

When a rule is breached the firm disables trading on the account but usually keeps it readable so you can review what happened. To the platform this looks like an account that exists but has no trading permission, which is why the interface loads normally and only the order controls are missing.

Accounts vanish from the list for a different reason: the firm has removed the platform user, most often after a stage change or a closure. In that case you have not lost the record, it just lives in the dashboard now.

The fix, step by step

  1. Check your prop firm dashboard for the account's status. Breached, failed, expired and disabled are all shown there and are the fastest answer.
  2. Check your email, including spam, for a breach or expiry notice from the firm. These are usually automated and sent at the moment the rule fired.
  3. If the evaluation had a time limit, check whether it simply ran out. Some firms expire an unfinished evaluation without any breach.
  4. If you have passed a stage, check whether the firm has issued you a new account for the next stage, with new credentials, and closed the old one.
  5. If the dashboard says the account is active but the platform will not trade, log out fully, close the tab and log back in before reporting it.
  6. If the two still disagree, contact the firm with the account number and a description of what each system shows.

How to confirm it is fixed

The dashboard and the platform agree on the account's status. If the dashboard says breached, the platform being read-only is expected behaviour and there is nothing to fix.

Stopping it happening again

Watch drawdown against the firm's measure rather than your own, and take a screenshot of your dashboard figures at the end of each session so you have a record if a status changes unexpectedly.
