Why market cap matters more than price

A token at a fraction of a cent is not cheap. What matters is the total value of all the tokens. A coin needing a 100x from a 5 billion valuation needs to become one of the largest assets in the world.

Size for total loss

The base rate of small tokens going to zero is very high. That does not mean never. It means size the position so that going to zero is genuinely acceptable, because most of the time it will.

Common questions

Why is a cheap token price not the same as cheap?

Price alone tells you nothing without supply. Market cap is price times supply, and that is what has to grow for you to make money.

Can a memecoin really do 100x?

Some have. The overwhelming majority go to zero instead, and you cannot tell which in advance, which is the entire argument for small position sizes.
