The platform opens with a default layout, or your carefully arranged panels are missing after a crash or an update.
The workspace was not saved, the platform did not shut down cleanly, or you are opening a different workspace from the one you built.
A workspace is saved state describing which panels are open, where they sit and what each is bound to. Until it is saved, that arrangement exists only in memory, so anything that ends the process abruptly takes it with it.
Because workspaces are also switchable, a layout that looks lost is often just not the one currently loaded.
Close the platform, reopen it, and confirm the workspace loads with every panel in place and bound to the right connection.
Save after every meaningful change, keep named workspaces per purpose, and check them after platform updates.
