WebRequest is not allowed in MetaTrader 5

What is causing it

The URL is not in the MetaTrader 5 allowed list. This is the most common Market Structure Pro install issue.

Why this happens

MetaTrader blocks all outbound internet requests from indicators and Expert Advisors by default. Any program you attach to a chart is code running on your machine with access to your account, so allowing it to talk to arbitrary servers unchecked would be a serious risk. Instead the terminal keeps an allowlist that you control, and refuses any request to an address that is not on it. Nothing is broken when you see this error: the platform is doing exactly what it is designed to do, and it will keep refusing until you add the address yourself.

The check is done on the address as written, so it has to match. Adding a slightly different form of the address, such as leaving off the www or adding a trailing path, can leave the request still blocked even though the entry looks right at a glance. The terminal also reads the list when a program starts, which is why the fix only takes effect after you remove and re-attach the indicator rather than immediately.

The fix, step by step

1. Open Tools, then Options, then the Expert Advisors tab.
2. Tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL".
3. Add the exact URL shown in the error, for MSP that is https://www.traderindicators.net
4. Click OK, then remove and re-attach the indicator.

How to confirm it is fixed

Remove and re-attach the indicator, then open the Experts tab in the Toolbox. The error should no longer appear for that address, and whatever the tool needed the connection for, such as a licence check or a data pull, should complete. If the tool shows a status on the chart, that status should change from an error state to a working one.

Stopping it happening again

Add the address to the allowlist as part of installing any tool that needs internet access, before you attach it, so the failure never happens. Copy the address exactly from the error or the tool's install instructions rather than typing it. Keep the list short and only add addresses belonging to tools you actually trust, since every entry is a permission you are granting.
