Topstep, founded in Chicago in 2012, is the best known futures prop firm and one of the oldest funding companies of any kind. Traders pass the Trading Combine, a one-step evaluation, to reach a funded account and keep 100% of the first profit tier and 90% after that.
It trades futures through platforms such as NinjaTrader, TradingView and Tradovate. It does not offer MetaTrader, so Market Structure Pro cannot be used here, but it is a strong choice for US futures traders who cannot access most forex prop firms.
The trade-offs are the futures-only focus, a monthly subscription model and a trailing drawdown that new traders need to understand.

Topstep's Trustpilot rating is about 3.4 out of 5 (rated Average) across roughly 14,000 reviews, lower than many newer firms, though it remains the most established US futures firm. New accounts now start on a 90/10 split.
