Setting Up Alerts Without Being Spammed

Alerts are the difference between watching a chart all day and getting on with your life. The trick is being told about the right things, because an alert you have learned to ignore is worse than no alert at all.

CHAPTER 12 OF 124 MIN READUPDATED 2026

The four ways MSP can reach you

Setting up push notifications

  1. Install the MetaTrader 5 app on your phone and open it.
  2. In the app, go to Settings, then Messages, and copy your MetaQuotes ID.
  3. On the desktop platform, go to Tools, then Options, then the Notifications tab.
  4. Tick Enable Push Notifications and paste the MetaQuotes ID in.
  5. Click Test. If the phone buzzes, you are done.
  6. In the MSP settings, Section 05, turn on push notifications for the events you want.
Every delivery method ships turned OFF by design, so nothing can spam you before you have asked for it. Turning on "Enable Alerts" alone does nothing. You must also switch on at least one delivery method underneath it. This is the single most common reason people think alerts are broken.

Two settings that stop the noise

Section 05, the filters worth setting
Alert Cooldown
Minutes
The minimum gap between alerts. If your phone buzzed four times in a minute during a fast market, this is the setting you want. Five minutes is a reasonable starting point on intraday charts.
Minimum Alert Priority
HIGH / WARN / INFO
Set it to HIGH and you are only told about the things that need you. INFO tells you about everything, which is useful for a day while you learn what fires, and exhausting after that.
Minimum Entry Confidence
Percent
Only alert on entries above a confidence you choose. Setting this to 60 or 70 quietly removes most of the C grades from your phone without changing anything on the chart.

Which events to turn on

Start narrow. You can always add more once you know what you actually respond to.

A sensible starting set
✓ Turn on
  • Verdict reaches TRADE, which is the one that needs you
  • A live position hits the exit condition
  • Optionally, verdict reaches GET READY on instruments you care about most
✗ Leave off at first
  • Every confidence score change, which will fire constantly
  • Every metric threshold crossing
  • GET READY on ten instruments at once, which trains you to ignore the phone

If alerts never arrive

Common questions

How do I get Market Structure Pro alerts on my phone?

Install the MetaTrader 5 mobile app, copy your MetaQuotes ID from Settings then Messages, and paste it into Tools, Options, Notifications on the desktop platform. Then enable push notifications in Section 05 of the MSP settings.

Why am I not receiving MSP alerts?

The most common cause is that no delivery method is switched on. Every delivery method ships turned off, so enabling alerts on its own does nothing: you must also switch on popup, push, sound or email underneath it. After that, check the platform is running, that the MetaQuotes ID has no typo, and that email settings have been tested from Tools then Options then Email.

How do I stop Market Structure Pro alerting me too often?

Section 05 has an alert cooldown in minutes, a minimum alert priority, and a minimum entry confidence filter. Setting priority to HIGH and confidence to around 60 percent removes most low-grade alerts.
