My wallet will not connect to a site

You click Connect and nothing happens, or it connects and immediately drops.

What is actually happening

Usually a stale session, a second wallet extension fighting for the same slot, or the site expecting a different chain.

How to fix it

  1. Disconnect the site inside your wallet, refresh the page, and connect again.
  2. Disable any other wallet extensions. Two extensions competing to be the browser wallet breaks both.
  3. Switch to the chain the site actually wants before connecting.
  4. Clear the site’s cached connection, or try a private window.
  5. On mobile, use the wallet’s built in browser rather than Safari or Chrome.
If a site asks you to sign a message you cannot read, do not sign it. Connecting should never require approving a transaction.
