Full review

Trading 212 is a UK-headquartered (London) broker with development roots in Bulgaria, founded in 2004. It is best known for pioneering commission-free investing in real stocks and ETFs and for a very low barrier to entry, letting you open an Invest or ISA account with roughly $1. The firm is regulated by multiple Tier-1 authorities including the FCA, CySEC, Bulgaria's FSC and ASIC, and UK clients benefit from FSCS protection up to £85,000.

Unlike most CFD brokers, Trading 212 runs entirely on its own proprietary web and mobile platforms; there is no MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or cTrader, so Market Structure Pro cannot be used, and no automated/algorithmic trading. Alongside commission-free investing (Invest, Stocks ISA, Cash ISA and SIPP wrappers), it offers a CFD account covering forex, indices and commodities on a market-maker model. Crypto CFDs are available only to EU/CySEC clients. CFD spreads are typically wider than the industry average, the main trade-off against its zero-commission investing.

The broker serves primarily UK and EU/EEA (plus Australian) clients and does not accept US or Canadian residents. It provides a free demo mode, 24/7 in-app support and funding via cards, bank transfer, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Overall it is positioned as a low-cost, beginner-friendly platform for long-term investors, with CFDs as a secondary offering.

Verdict
✓ Trusted reviews

Very high review volume with strong cross-platform consistency: 36,208 Trustpilot reviews at 4.6/5 plus 4.5/5 BrokerChooser and 4.0/5 ForexBrokers.com (Trust Score 82/99). No signs of coordinated fake reviews; the low Sitejabber score comes from a tiny 44-review sample. Multi-regulated (FCA, CySEC, FSC Bulgaria, ASIC) with no fines, though it faced scrutiny over 2021 GameStop buy restrictions and a 2025-26 crypto-ETN permissions lapse; occasional withdrawal/ISA-transfer delays are a minority.
