Full review

Interactive Brokers is a long-established (1978), heavily regulated US-headquartered broker offering direct market access to roughly 150 markets across 30+ countries, spanning stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds, funds, CFDs (outside the US) and spot crypto. It uses its own proprietary platforms, TWS, IBKR Desktop/Mobile, GlobalTrader and Client Portal, rather than MetaTrader, so Market Structure Pro cannot be used.

It competes on very low, commission-based pricing with a $0 minimum deposit and true agency execution via SmartRouting, making it a favourite of active, professional and international traders. It accepts US retail clients, though US residents cannot access spot forex or CFDs.

Main drawbacks are platform complexity and support responsiveness rather than cost or regulation, both of which are excellent.

Verdict
✓ Trusted reviews

Interactive Brokers is a NASDAQ-listed, multi-regulated custodian with top editorial ratings (5/5 ForexBrokers.com and NerdWallet; 99/99 Trust Score) and strong high-volume app ratings (~4.5/5 across ~11,250 Apple and ~72,594 Google Play), broad, consistent, organic sentiment. Low Sitejabber (1.7/5, 11 reviews) is unrepresentative complaint bias. Only material blemish is a 2020 AML-reporting settlement.
