IG is a long-established (1974), London-headquartered and LSE-listed broker regulated by the FCA and many other tier-1 authorities, making it one of the most trusted names in retail trading. It offers a very broad multi-asset lineup of roughly 17,000+ markets through several platforms including its own web platform, MT4, TradingView, ProRealTime and DMA via L2 Dealer, spanning CFDs, UK spread betting, share dealing and options.
Pricing is competitive but not the cheapest, with standard EUR/USD spreads averaging near 0.9 pips; tighter DMA pricing is available with commission. US retail clients cannot access IG's CFD, spread-betting, stock or crypto products and are limited to spot forex via IG's US entity tastyfx.
Note: IG offers MetaTrader 4 but not MetaTrader 5, so Market Structure Pro cannot be used here. Overall it suits traders who value regulatory strength, breadth of markets and platform choice over rock-bottom costs.
