Pros & cons

✓ Pros

  • Long track record since 2011 with a large global client and partner base
  • Both MT4 and MT5 supported, plus proprietary FXTM Trader app and WebTrader
  • Very tight raw spreads on the Advantage account (from 0.0 pips) with moderate commission
  • Low entry barrier (~$50 Edge / $200 Advantage) and a full-featured demo
  • Strong educational content and an established IB/affiliate partner program

✗ Cons

  • Most retail clients now onboard under offshore FSC Mauritius, with weaker protections than Tier-1 regulators
  • Exited its Tier-1 regulated retail markets - surrendered/withdrew CySEC (EU) and FCA (UK) retail offerings
  • Product range is CFD/forex-centric - lacks ETFs, bonds, options and futures
  • Costs and account availability vary confusingly by region/entity; some fees apply
  • Support is 24/5, not 24/7, with only limited weekend coverage

Full review

FXTM (ForexTime) is a forex and CFD broker launched in 2011, originally headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus and now operating under the Mauritius-centred Exinity group. It offers MT4 and MT5 alongside its own FXTM Trader app and a browser WebTrader, with 250+ instruments across forex, indices, commodities/metals, crypto CFDs and stocks. Accounts include entry-level Edge and Micro, the raw-spread Advantage (from 0.0 pips plus ~$3.50 round-turn commission), commission-free Advantage Plus (~1.5 pips), and Advantage Stocks; the typical minimum deposit is ~$200 ($50 for Edge).

The most important point for a YMYL directory is regulatory structure: FXTM once held Tier-1 licences - CySEC (ForexTime Limited, 185/12) and the FCA (Forextime UK Limited, 777911) - but has withdrawn from EU and UK retail, surrendering or exiting those licences to refocus on Asia and the Middle East. Today the great majority of retail clients onboard under Exinity Limited, regulated offshore by the FSC of Mauritius (Investment Dealer Licence C113012295), with FSCA South Africa (FSP 50320) and CMA Kenya (licence 135) also held. In practice, clients get competitive pricing, solid platform choice and a mature partner program, but with oversight for most users coming from an offshore regulator rather than the FCA or CySEC.

FXTM (Exinity Limited) is a genuinely regulated, long-established broker (FSC Mauritius, FSCA South Africa; historically CySEC/FCA). However verifiable consumer pages skew negative and low-volume: Sitejabber 1.3/5 across only 10 reviews dominated by withdrawal-blocking complaints laced with third-party 'fund recovery' plugs (a manipulated-review signal). Trustpilot/FPA/WikiFX/BrokerChooser unverified this session.
