Full review

eToro is a multi-asset broker and social-trading pioneer founded in 2007 (Nasdaq-listed since 2025), regulated across several major jurisdictions including the FCA, CySEC, ASIC and, in the US, SEC/FINRA and FinCEN. It runs only its own proprietary platform, no MetaTrader, so Market Structure Pro cannot be used, built around CopyTrader social trading.

It offers commission-free real stocks and ETFs in many regions alongside CFDs, real crypto and (in the US) options. Spreads on forex, commodities, indices and crypto tend to run at or above the industry average, and there is a $5 withdrawal fee.

US retail clients are accepted but limited to stocks, ETFs, options and crypto, without forex or leveraged CFDs. eToro is best suited to beginners and investors attracted to social/copy trading and commission-free share investing.

Verdict
✓ Trusted reviews

eToro carries very high Trustpilot volume rated ~4.1/5 ('Great') and top marks from professional reviewers (ForexBrokers.com 5.0, BrokerChooser rated highly), indicating broadly genuine positive sentiment for a major FCA/CySEC/ASIC-regulated broker. Complaint-skewed, low-volume venues like Sitejabber (1.6/5, 116 reviews) and a minority of Trustpilot reviews cluster around withdrawal delays, verification friction, and copy-trading losses. Cross-platform pattern is consistent; the main regulatory item is eToro USA's 2024 SEC crypto settlement, not scam allegations.
